João Osório

I am a hands-on director, cinematographer/director of photography and editor with a proficiency in color grading. My goal and creativity are always improving which lends to an ever-growing visual style in directing. I am always in search of a new way to tell a story.

 

I have worked as television multiple-camera director, advertising director, documentaries director, cinematographer/director of photography, color grading and final cut editor for several studios and televisions in Portugal

and Spain.

I have more than 2000 hours of multiple-camera live shows in RTP2 (Radio and Television of Portugal) of all kind ("Sociedade Civil", "Cor do Dinheiro" "Mais Europa",etc). I have done more than 50 documentaries, 32 of them are fictional documentaries and several commercials.

I have also developed individual, more experimental work in video and sound design. I have great knowledge working with Final Cut Pro, Avid, After Effects, Color, Da Vinci Resolve, Photoshop, Newtek Tricaster. 

 

I work with all kind of digital cameras like the DSLR´S, Canon C300, Red Epic,

Blackmagic, Panasonic af101 and Ag hpx500, Sony fs3/700/100, etc.

 

My interests are in documentaries, live shows, advertising films and directing music videos.

I live and work in Lisbon, Portugal.



I studied Psychology at Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada in Lisbon, Portugal;

Television Direction and Multiplecamera in Septima Ars Film School of Madrid, Spain; and Advanced Digital Cinematography in Maine Media Workshops College, USA.
